So Twisted

As I sit upon my weathered lanai
Pondering travesties

My soul cries

In desperation
Trying to gain meaning

Memory ere
Yet recently

So senseless
Yet still I try

Future dreams
Unraveling seems

Confusion floods
Meandering

Under attak
Eggshells crack

Bizarre accusations fly

A storm beyond
Comprehension brings

Whirlpool spinning
Downward sucking

Internally

Struggle to surface
Rise above

Rise above

My mind
My heart

In dizzying swirl
Left in sunshine

Picking up
Shattered world

The storm has vanished
But it's still there

Hiding
Sleeping perhaps

Until
the next shell cracks

Summer Day

I'm so hot!
Mom! I'm board!
There's nothing to do.

Why does it have to be so hot?

Oh just because.

Because we're supposed to be at the beach...

Actually,  it's not so bad
Grab a frozen banana

Spend some time outside
Play amongst the mango trees

Dip your feet into the pool
Sip on sweet lilikoi.

Take a nap in the hammock.

Collect flowers for a lei.
Daydreaming of the ocean waves.

Flower scented ocean breezes
Ready to play

Visiting you for the day.

Go!
Have fun!

It's silly to be inside on this amazingly beautiful day.
